[VIDEO] Chevy Teases the Reveal of the Corvette ZR1

We knew it was coming, and now Chevrolet has made it official by dropping a teaser video on all their social media channels saying “The Corvette ZR1 is Coming This Summer!”

The video features a dark screen with smoke and each of the logos for the three current C8 models are shown in their order of release: Stingray, Z06, and E-Ray. The smoke then collapses into the center to reveal the new ZR1 logo. A silhouette of the car then appears in the background and smashes through the ZR1 logo to reveal a silver Crossed Flags badge with the words that say “The Unthinkable Is Coming This Summer.”

From Chevrolet via YouTube:

No Corvette has ever moved quite like this. The ZR1 is coming this summer.

Once again, Chevy drops a bomb without warning, and it’s great to finally have something official to look forward to. Again, I think the message is that the reveal is happening this summer, and the indications are that this will be a 2025 model year, which will probably be a late year addition based on what we’ve seen previously.

As a quick recap, the specs of the car are believed to be a 5.5L LT7 twin-turbo that makes around 850 hp. To accommodate that horsepower, we’ve seen that the widebody design has been further expanded with the pass-through vents on the front of the car, while the rear quarter panels receive another set of air vents on the sides right behind the larger side intakes, while spy photos also show two more vents on top of the rear deck.

We last saw the engineers driving the ZR1 prototypes out in California last month, and the group included both Coupes and Convertibles.

As for price, we have nothing concrete, but based on the higher prices for the Z06 and the E-Ray, it would be no surprise that this car starts higher than the $140s as a base price.

Stay tuned, as this summer is going to be fun!
